YEAR 2 DAY 198
Happy New Year
Today was a sunny, very warm day.
When we came home from the New Year's Eve party last night, we ended up watching one of our favourite movies, The Blues Brothers. We didn't get to bed until 3:00 A.M.. Consequently, I slept until 11:30 this morning.
We were going to start a new family tradition today of going out for a waffle brunch. It turned out so poorly, we're not likely to repeat it. We drove into town, to have a waffle brunch at Denny's. The service was extraordinarily bad. They were short staffed. Probably a bunch of staff phoned in with "New Year's Flu". The staff that were there were hung over and tired. It was terrible. I think that staying away from restaurants early on New Year's Day would be a great idea for the future.
Once back at Saguaro Co-op, I did preventive maintenance, then did another "stay" obedience session with Bo. He's inconsistent. We're going to have to do a lot of work on "stay". I printed the 2005 investment data updates I downloaded Friday night. I spent the rest of the afternoon entering the data into my files, and analyzing 2005 investment performance. Pretty good ! The calendar year investment growth exceeded our expenditures. After a year and a half on the road, homeless and unemployed, we have more money than we started with. Woo-Hoo ... don't have to hang up the keys yet !
Joanne tried out some new RV specialty cleaning products we bought at Camping World in Tucson. The screen wipes worked really well. The fibreglass oxidation cleaner and polish didn't make any difference. Sharon phoned with details of our Autopac ( vehicle registrations and insurance ) bill she received in the mail. We chatted briefly. I did today's accounting and started today's journal entry. While Joanne prepared supper, I read today's newspaper.
After supper, I spent the evening working on the large batch of mail we picked up at the Benson Post Office the other day.
