February 17 to 23, 2019 ; Yuma, Arizona to Las Vegas, Nevada

Sunday ; Sunny, mild, windy.

Around lunch time we left for a matinee performance by Yuma Community Theater. On the way we stopped to have lunch at a Sonic drive in restaurant. Food was good. Service was atrociously bad. The play was The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. I was ambivalent about attending this play. I’m glad we did. We both liked it. It was one of Yuma Community Theater’s best presentations. On the way home we stopped at Lowe’s and bought some firewood for a campfire at Quartzsite on our way to Las Vegas later this week.

While we ate supper we watched Andrew McCabe’s interview on 60 Minutes. Just like James Comey, Andrew McCabe certainly does seem credible, doesn’t he ? ! ?

Monday ; Sunny, mild and windy early in the day, becoming cloudy, cold and windy late in the afternoon.

Today we began preparing for departure on Wednesday on a trip to Las Vegas. This afternoon Joanne went shopping by herself. Just before supper we gave Ozzie a bath. I continued working on some financial planning for 2019 and 2020.

After supper I checked the weather forecasts for Quartzsite, Laughlin, and Las Vegas for the next week. Uh-oh ! Didn’t expect temperatures that cold !

Tuesday ; Sunny, cool, windy.

This afternoon we went to the Humane Society for our regular weekly volunteer session of dog walking and cat cuddling. When we returned home we stopped to visit with George and Betty, neighbours / friends that we haven’t seen in two years … and their two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Rocky and Molly. Eighty-two year old George is recovering from his third heart attack, two of them at the top of the left main artery / left anterior descending artery. A heart attack at that location is considered not survivable, and is therefore known as the widow maker. That’s where I had an eighty percent blockage, necessitating immediate triple bypass surgery.

Wednesday ; Yuma to Quartzsite, Arizona

Sunny, cool, windy in Yuma, cloudy, cold, very windy in Quartzsite. Too cold and windy to have our planned campfire.

We finished preparing for departure this morning and left home at 12:15 PM. Through Yuma heading northeast towards the Foothills, then onto Hwy. 95 heading east first, then north. Near Yuma Proving Grounds
( military equipment testing and research facility ) we stopped at From The Farm & Afar, a “farm to table” farm produce stand, to have date shakes. On impulse we decided to have tacos for lunch there. As always, the date shakes were great. Unfortunately, the tacos were a huge disappointment. < shrug > Oh, well !

After lunch we continued north on Hwy. 95 reaching Quartzsite in
mid-afternoon. We stopped in town to shop at the “scratch & dent” grocery vendor at the Tyson Wells flea market area. WHEW … bought more than we had anticipated ! HA HA HA … lots of good stuff ! After grocery shopping we continued north on Hwy. 95 about ten miles north of town to Hi Jolly Campground, one of the many BLM unserviced campgrounds in the area. We found a good spot to park in the desert, beside an arroyo, then took Ozzie for a long walk. BRRRRR … too cold and windy for a campfire.

While Joanne prepared supper … indoors / Plan B … I set up the TV and roof top antenna, and tried to find a CBS feed ( from Phoenix ? ) in order to watch the season premiere of Survivor. No luck !

Thursday ; Quartzsite, Arizona to Laughlin, Nevada

YIKES ! Cloudy … very cold … Canadian winter cold ! Raining heavily ! Snowing heavily just to the east of us.

We got a very late start to our day, and left the Hi Jolly boondocking campground after noon. North on Hwy. 95, then east on Hwy. 95 to Parker where we refilled our freshwater tank at a water spigot on the outer edge of Safeway’s parking lot. Good memory, Dan ! Between Parker and Lake Havasu City we stopped to have a very late, very light lunch. Just a banana for lunch, to ensure that we were good and hungry for a casino buffet dinner. HA HA HA !

We continued north on Hwy. 95 through Lake Havasu City when the weather got ugly. At Interstate 40 we turned west towards California. I-40 was closed east of Hwy. 95 due to winter blizzard driving conditions, with many accidents and abandoned cars on the freeway. The intersection of Arizona Hwy. 95 and Interstate 40, where we were turning left / west towards California, was clogged with a huge number of semi-trailer trucks trying to park on the shoulders of the freeway to wait out the storms to the east.

At I-40 Arizona exit 1, a mile before crossing the Colorado River into California we turned north on Historic Route 66 and “dipsy-doodled” around on that until reaching the continuation of Arizona Hwy. 95 which we followed north to Bullhead City. We refilled with Diesel at Smith's
( supermarket ) Fuel Bar, then crossed the Colorado River from Bullhead City, Arizona to Laughlin, Nevada, and the Avi Casino.

We parked in the Avi Casino’s large but crowded RV boondocking area, walked Ozzie … BRRRRR ... and rested briefly before going into the casino for the Thursday 2-4-1 buffet restaurant promotion. MMMMM … the Native Harvest Buffet is one of our favourite ETYS casino buffet restaurants. WOO-HOO … barbecued beef ribs featured tonight !

Friday ; Laughlin to Las Vegas, Nevada

Sunny and mild. We left The Avi Casino late this morning and drove through Laughlin from south to north. We stopped at Laughlin Outlet Center to shop for shoes at the SAS Outlet Store. HMPH ! They did not have exactly what I wanted.

Shortly after noon we left Laughlin heading west on Hwy. 163. As we passed the road leading to Christmas Tree Pass I decided on impulse to take it. We have passed the road to Christmas Tree Pass many times in the past, and I have wanted to explore it. Today was the day ! It was a fifteen mile difficult ( four wheel drive necessary ) gravel road, leading northwest up and over a mountain range, coming down to Nevada Hwy. 95 leading to Las Vegas. Near the summit, where we stopped to have a late lunch, there was snow.

When the road came back down to Hwy. 95 near Searchlight, Nevada, and we turned north towards Las Vegas, there was … < sputter > … much snow ! Fresh, clean snow ! Must have fallen yesterday, in the same storm that closed Interstate 40 heading east.

We reached Las Vegas late in the afternoon, and found our way without difficulty to Main Street Station Casino’s RV Park where we had a reservation. We checked in at the casino, got parked in our assigned spot in the RV park, then rested briefly before heading out for dinner and an evening on Fremont Street.

We jay walked across the street from the RV park to Main Street Station Casino, housed in the really lovely old train station building. Beautiful chandeliers, fresco painted paintings, stained glass windows, grand staircases to the mezzanine. From the mezzanine we took the covered walkway above Main Street crossing to their sister hotel, the California Hotel & Casino. There is a restaurant in the California that I have long wanted to try. Again … today was the day !

We had supper at California Noodle House. MMMMM ! Very good ! Not cheap ! ! ! After ( too much ) supper we walked a few blocks over to Fremont Street, the “original” Las Vegas “Strip” and now the tawdry, old, bizarre “downtown”. Seeing Fremont Street for the first time is jaw dropping awesome. After seeing it many times, it just seems a sadder commentary on mankind each time. Joanne wanted to see the hourly light show exhibited on the enclosed walkway’s arched ceiling, which we have seen during the day, but never at night.

Yes, yes … here on Fremont Street, for the right amount of money, you can still “have your way” with Minnie Mouse. HA HA HA ! God Bless America ! < ROFLMAO >

Saturday ; Sunny and cool.

After an early lunch we walked to an SDX ( Strip to Downtown Express ) bus stop on the far side of the California Casino & Hotel. We bought bus tickets from a dispenser then caught a Northbound SDX articulated bus and rode it two stops to the Smith Center For The Performing Arts. The reason for this trip to Las Vegas was to attend this afternoon’s matinee performance of the Canadian play “Come From Away”, the story of the small city of Gander, Newfoundland, population 9000, when it had to accommodate 7000 people who were forced to land there in 38 airplanes bound for the United States when the US airspace was closed on September 11 following the Twin Tower terrorist attacks. The play was powerful, and had both of us, and the rest of the audience, fighting back tears multiple times throughout the performance. The play made me proud to be Canadian.

After the play we walked back to the nearest bus stop, and while waiting for the bus chatted with two women from Toronto who had also attended the play. We were back home about 5:45 PM. I napped briefly then went into the Main Street Station Casino to use Wi-Fi to check e-mail while Joanne prepared supper. After supper I set up the TV and roof top antenna, and was able to acquire some “over the air” Las Vegas TV signals, hoping to be able to watch Saturday Night Live, but … I was not able to receive an NBC signal.

February 10 to 16, 2019

Sunday ; Happy 70th birthday to my sister Sharon

Seventy ? Jesus ! ! !

Sunny and warm.

Around lunch time I had a long phone chat with my much older sister
< snicker >.

After lunch I was searching for something in our shed. I was having difficulty finding it, and … flipped into “purge” mode, throwing stuff out, setting stuff out to be taken to the bargain table, and photographing items to post for sale online.

Monday : Sunny and cool. BRRRRR ! Where’s spring ? Joanne cooked chicken chile verde in the Sun Oven today.

I took a propane tank from the trailer to be refilled today, leaving it at our RV park’s propane refill station. I did some “spring cleaning” in our shed. I’ve been in “purge” mode lately. I continue to struggle to understand, and resolve, along with my investment adviser’s office staff … < ahem > … “discrepancies” in Joanne’s first “retirement” annuity payment, received a few days ago.

Tuesday ; Sunny and cool.

This morning an item I ordered from Amazon arrived. I ordered it before Christmas ! It got lost ! I re-ordered it, and it arrived within a few days. Now the package that has been lost for about a month and a half has arrived. HMPH ! I wonder if I get to keep it ? Without paying for it a second time ?

This afternoon we took our recycling to the recycling depot. I wonder if all that stuff we drop off there is actually recycled ? Or does it all just end up in the garbage / landfill somewhere ? Arizona seems twenty or thirty years behind British Columbia and Ontario in how it processes recyclables.

Late in the afternoon I assisted Joanne with cleaning underneath the range top. YUCK ! And I continued the ongoing “debate” I am having with my investment adviser’s assistant about Joanne’s recent first annuity payment. I am certain that a mistake has been made. And if it doesn’t get clarified / corrected immediately there may be long term repercussions !

Wednesday ; Los Algodones, Baja California, Mexico

Sunny and cool. It started raining a few minutes after we returned home from Mexico around 6:30 PM, and continued throughout the evening.

We left home shortly after 11 AM, heading for Mexico, where Joanne had her final appointment for sclerotherapy at noon. After we walked across the border, Joanne went to the medical clinic and I walked across town to the veterinary pharmacy. I bought some pet ear drops then walked back to the medical clinic near the border. Joanne was still waiting to see the dermatologist ! She finally got in to see the doctor at 1:05 PM, sixty-five minutes late. This a common, and extremely irritating to me, problem with Mexican doctors and dentists in January and February. In order to “make hay while the sun shines”, they accommodate walk in clients, at the expense of their patients with appointments.

We were out of the medical clinic at 1:30 P.M. and walked across town again to pick up our four pairs of glasses at the ophthalmologist's / optician’s. After getting our new glasses ( EXCELLENT ! ) we went for a late lunch at Taqueira Molcas, our “regular” / favourite Los Algodones restaurant. MMMMM … great goat meat tacos ! HA HA HA ! I’m not kidding ! Joanne had tres tacos carne asada, and I had tres tacos, uno camaron ( shrimp ), uno carne asada ( seasoned beef ), y uno chivo
( goat ). With a Fanta Naranja for Joanne, and a Coca-Cola Light for me, the bill was U.S.$13. HMPH ! Price increases !

After lunch we went for pedicures. Mine took less time than Joanne’s, so while she was getting her nails painted, and waiting for them to dry,
I went shopping for medications, comparing prices at five different pharmacies before buying what I needed. I returned to the beauty shop to pick up Joanne, and we headed back to the border crossing. < sigh > Longest line up this season ! Took an hour and forty-five minutes to get across … < sigh >… ! We passed the time chatting with the two American couples in line in front of us, relative “newbies” to “medical tourism” in Los Algodones.

Thursday ; Valentine’s Day

Overcast, raining, mild.

This is the rain that has caused flooding and mudslides and death and destruction just a few hours west and northwest of here, in San Diego and Palm Springs. But, as usual … Yuma seems immune to significant weather. How nice !

This morning our neighbour across the street, Bebe ( Miss Thailand 1969 ? ) brought over a box of Valentine’s chocolates for Joanne.
< shrug >

I was very lazy today. Too lazy to go to the Humane Society for our weekly volunteer session. The cat wing is currently quarantined, which meant that either I would go by myself, or Joanne would have to join me in the dog kennels, and we would have both ended up walking unruly pit bulls … in the rain. I chose to nap instead. HA HA HA !

I puttered around on the computer doing vision care and medical expense records keeping. You know … OCD stuff ! HA HA HA !

We suspect that Ozzie may have a urinary tract infection. We began administering Amoxicillin to him today, and we’ll see if there is improvement over the next few days. If not … off to the vet goes Ozzie !

Friday ; Cloudy and mild.

This afternoon our friends David and Shauna came over ( without their dog Zona ) for a visit in our Arizona room. Shauna was interested in learning about “casino camping”. Afterwards Joanne went shopping by herself. I continued working out details of our pending annuities. One of our four annuities began paying out this month, and the first payment was … < ahem > … wrong !

Saturday ; Sunny, mild, windy.

This morning we trimmed Ozzie’s claws. This afternoon I purged “my” bedroom cupboard. YIKES ! What a lot of stuff that I haven’t used in five years or more. Most of it went to the bargain table. Some of it went to recycling. Joanne went out to run some shopping errands by herself.

February 3 to 9, 2019

Sunday ; Sunny and mild, a bit windy. Joanne roasted a chicken in the Sun Oven today. Emma thought it was wonderful ! HA HA HA !

This morning I dismantled and cleaned the camper fridge’s igniter and burner manifold. YIKES ! I think the last time I did this was shortly after we bought the camper … a bit more than five years ago ! This afternoon I watched the Super Bowl. In the evening I worked on updating investment files with end of January data.

Monday ; Sunny and mild, a bit windy.

After much tossing and turning I got out of bed late last night and composed a letter to both the managers of our RV park and the Board of Directors regarding a troubling “neighbour dispute” with the occupant of the storage yard space next to mine. < mumbling quietly > Stupid old battleaxe !

I hand delivered the two copies of the letter this morning.

After lunch we went shopping for a couple of RV repair items I need. The nearby RV parts dealer lived up to their reputation today. Four staff members on duty today … all clueless ! ! ! We drove all the way across town to another RV parts dealer, a “Mom & Pop” outfit owned by a couple who look to me to be in their eighties. With a dusty, poorly lit, disorganized shop, more like a hoarder’s place than a retail business. They had one of the two items I needed. < sigh > How could a city like Yuma, with about 90,000 “winter visitors” each year, many of them living in RV’s, not have a decent RV parts dealer ? ! ?
< sigh > Why did Al’s RV Supplies go out of business last summer ? ? ?

We also stopped at Goodwill and Wal-Mart looking for a microwave oven for the trailer. Nothing at Goodwill. Bought one at Wal-Mart. It will fit the opening in the wall, but is not exactly the right dimensions to fit the old microwave’s bezel that goes around it. Wish me luck !

When we got home I checked the air pressure in the truck’s two tires on which I replaced the 135 degree valve adapters. < sigh > One of them has lost much air pressure. < bigger sigh > I’ll change that adapter again, probably tomorrow.

In the evening I worked on setting up 2019 investment files.

Tuesday ; Sunny, mild, a bit windy.

Oh … great ! Trump’s State Of The Union is starting now < rolling my eyes > !

WHEW ! Eighty minutes !

This afternoon I did some repairs and preventive maintenance in the camper and on the truck. Just before barbecuing lamb chops for supper I began installing the new microwave in the trailer. It will require some MacGyvering / custom modifications to make the trim plate fit.

Wednesday ; Sunny, cool, windy.

This afternoon we did a volunteer shift at the Humane Society. After walking four large, unruly dogs I was tired so I went to the cat wing to “rest”. Joanne assigned me to “cuddle” Kratos, who has not been drinking or eating. Well ! I made quite an accidental discovery. AND … by the time I was finished “cuddling” Kratos, she was drinking and eating. She has not been interacting with other volunteers, including Joanne, but … she really liked me ! HA HA HA … or to be more specific … she really liked that I smelled so strongly of “dog”. She REALLY liked the smell of my dog walking leash that was draped around my neck. She dislikes other cats, and being in the cat wing is very upsetting to her. Nobody realized that while she dislikes cats … she seems to quite like dogs ! Joanne checked her records and found that her last home had dogs, so … < shrug > … !

Good luck, Kratos. I hope you get adopted soon.

Thursday ; Sunny, chilly. Joanne cooked a Saskatoon ( berry ) cake in the Sun Oven today.

Around lunch time a couple from Chilliwack, BC ( in the summer ) / El Centro, California ( in the winter ) showed up to buy one of the items I have advertised for sale in the White Sheet. We spent way too much time chatting with them in our Arizona room. Well … at least they bought the item !

With Joanne’s help I finished installing the new microwave in the trailer late this afternoon. As expected, it took a lot of “custom modifications” to make the trim panel fit. As soon as that was finished we left to go downtown to Historic Yuma Theatre for the monthly foreign art film. It was a Japanese crime drama, and was very different from “Hollywood” / North American crime drama movies. On the way into the theatre we ordered two pizzas from a nearby upscale Italian restaurant, to be picked up after the film ended.

The pizzas were not very good, and certainly not worth anywhere near the prices paid ! ! !

Friday ; Sunny and cool.

This morning I made some phone calls to set up medical appointments back home in BC in the spring. After lunch Joanne went grocery shopping by herself. I glue repaired the frame of her prescription sunglasses. I mixed up a batch of Ozzie’s ear drops solution. I walked to the storage yard and checked the air pressure on the truck’s tire with the new valve adapter. So far, so good ! And I spent much of the afternoon and evening working on financial planning and budgeting.

Saturday ; Cloudy and chilly.

Today we looked after Hooch, our friends’ Shih Tzu. Richard brought Hooch over at … wait for it … 6:30 AM … and took him home at 8:30 PM. Emma was a bit anxious about Hooch’s presence, for the first few hours, but eventually she relaxed. By late afternoon they were sleeping together on our bed. I think that was more Hooch’s idea than Emma’s. HA HA HA !

I spent the day working ( again ) on financial planning and budgeting. It’s complicated ! I think I’m finished … for now.

January 27 to February 2, 2019 ; Palm Springs, California to Yuma, Arizona

Sunday ; Palm Springs to Salton Sea, California

Sunny and warm. WOO-HOO … pan dulce for breakfast !

We left the parking lot of Spotlight 29 Casino around noon. We drove a short distance to Love’s where we refilled the camper’s freshwater tank and dumped the shower / grey waste tank. From Love’s we used the GPS to find our way to Desert Theatreworks in Indio, where we had tickets to the afternoon matinee performance of Neil Simon’s “Brighton Beach Memoirs”.

We arrived at the theatre at 12:30 PM, for the 2 PM performance, so we got a good parking spot in the parking lot. It’s very hard to park the truck with camper in most urban locations. Across the street from the theatre was a lovely little park, with a large gazebo and benches. We wandered around the park with Ozzie, and relaxed on the benches, enjoying the warm sunshine. Ozzie enjoyed laying on the grass. At 1:30 PM we returned to the camper to have a light lunch before the play.

This was the first time we had been to Desert Theatreworks. It’s a very nice theatre venue. The play was excellent, we both enjoyed it a lot. After the play ended at 4:30 PM we drove to downtown Palm Springs, to take Ozzie to the Palm Springs Dog Park, Bo’s favourite of the many dog parks he enjoyed. Ozzie, however, was indifferent. He seemed a bit uncertain and insecure to be off leash in such a large area. His happiness returned when we reconnected his leash, and he felt secure again.

We went for supper to Elmer’s, a restaurant near downtown Palm Springs that Joanne has been wanting to try. We tried, but failed, to have dinner there at the end of November, when we were last in Palm Springs, but I was unable to find a parking spot in the restaurant’s parking lot, or nearby. Tonight the parking lot was less crowded. Dinner was very good, and Joanne wants to return in the future to have brunch there. They’re noted for their breakfast specialties.

As we drove east on Interstate 10, returning to Spotlight 29 Casino to boondock overnight, Joanne suggested that we continue past Spotlight 29, and head south on Hwy. 86 to boondock overnight at Red Earth Casino near the Salton Sea, part way back to Yuma. Good idea !

Monday ; JOANNE’S 65th BIRTHDAY ; Salton Sea to Holtville, California to Yuma, Arizona

Mostly sunny and warm.

We refilled with diesel fuel at the Red Earth Casino Travel Center before leaving Red Earth Casino late this morning and continuing south on Hwy. 86 to Interstate 8. We traveled the wrong direction ( west ) on the Interstate for a few miles to get to a roadside rest area that has a
sani-dump station where we emptied the camper’s grey and black waste holding tanks. Before leaving there we phoned our friends Barb and Serge, neighbours back home at Riverside RV Park Resort in BC, and confirmed our plans to meet them at Holtville Taco Shop to have burritos for lunch.

We drove east on Interstate 8 to Holtville, met Barb and Serge at the restaurant, ordered burritos for lunch, and had a long, leisurely afternoon of chatting. Barb and Serge, and their Border Collie Loki are spending the winter near Holtville, at the boondock camping area near the hot springs.

From Holtville we continued east on I-8, stopping at the rest area near the Imperial Sand Dunes
( where Star Wars was filmed ) so that I could have a brief nap. From there it was a relatively short distance to the Colorado River, the border between California and Yuma, Arizona. We stopped to refill with diesel again just before arriving home at 6 PM.

Tuesday ; Partially sunny, warm.

We slept late ! This afternoon we gave Ozzie a haircut. WOW ! Is he ever cute ! When his hair is long, he’s a big Shih Tzu. When his hair is short, he’s a Poodle / Spaniel ! Like his dad Dudley was !

Wednesday ; Partially sunny, warm.

This morning we finished Ozzie’s haircut, trimming the hair on his head and his tail, but not “shaving” it as short as on the rest of his body. This afternoon we went to the Humane Society for our regular weekly volunteer shift of dog walking and cat cuddling. Joanne wanted to try switching our “shift” from Tuesdays to Wednesdays. Today she discovered that she prefers Wednesday to Tuesday. I didn’t. Next week I think we’ll try Thursday. We’re both influenced by how many other volunteers there are on any given day, resulting in how many dogs have been walked / still need to be walked, and how many cats have been “cuddled” and how many more still need care.

After our Humane Society shift we drove to The Foothills, where I had made an “appointment” to discuss the sale of our camper’s “old” Happijac turnbuckles with a “high maintenance widow” who needed advice. My free advice resulted in her deciding not to buy my Happijac turnbuckles. Oh, well … I did a good deed, providing a widow with needed advice.

Upon our return home we took Ozzie for a walk, where we encountered another “high maintenance widow” who needed / wanted free advice regarding her small dog’s ear infection.
< sigh > We invited her back to our Arizona room where I provided her with a lot of free advice, and a fresh bottle of broad spectrum pet ear drops from Mexico. I seem to be a sucker for “high maintenance widows”.

MMMMM … Joanne made ( Mexican recipe ) chicken molé for supper.

Thursday ; mostly sunny, warm. It began to rain late in the evening.

This afternoon we went to see a movie at Harkins Theatres in Yuma Palms. Bhohemian Rhapsody, the story of Freddy Mercury and the rock band Queen. We liked it, thought it was a good movie. Another out of control rock star genius who lets his ego get the best of him ! After the movie we went to Famous Dave’s BBQ for supper, an annual event ! Going to Famous Dave’s, not having supper. HA HA HA !

Friday ; Sunny and warm.

Late this morning we headed east to The Foothills to browse at the Helping Hands Yard Sale, a massively huge semi-annual church sponsored … yard sale ! We were looking for a microwave oven to replace the trailer’s microwave that died a few days ago. We did not find a microwave that would fit, but … I did buy a new calculator … for fifty cents ! HA HA HA ! On the way back we stopped at Amerigas to have the barbecue’s propane tank recertified. BUT … Amerigas was unable to recertify a tank that size ( very small / five pound tank ).

Before we left home Joanne discovered that her wallet was missing. After a brief flurry of panic, she phoned Famous Dave’s and found that she had lost it there last night. From Amerigas we drove to Yuma Palms and Joanne retrieved her wallet at Famous Dave’s. The entire lost wallet experience was extremely upsetting for Joanne.

After a late lunch at home we went to the clubhouse to have our photos taken for the leaseholders’ photo wall. Our old photo had faded and needed to be replaced. Afterwards I went to nap with the animals and Joanne went Wal-Martin’ by herself.

Saturday ; Windy, sunny early in the day, cloudy in mid-day, light rain in the evening.

This afternoon while Joanne was out running some shopping errands I did a bit of work on the truck and camper. I reconciled and paid our electricity consumption and propane refill billings for January. In the evening I did computer backup and reconciled monthly banking statements.
