We haven't been getting out to the local area's events much this summer because Joanne works on Saturdays and Sundays. But today I picked up Joanne at work when she was finished at 4:00 P.M. and we walked over to Memorial Park for the last hour of Similkameen Sizzle, the annual pepper harvest festival in Keremeos.

We wandered around Memorial Park, checking out the various vendors, listening to The Cruzeros ( rolling eyes ) perform on stage. Bo visited with many dogs. WOO-HOO ... Bo loves going out to events. We saw a group of our neighbours from Riverside RV Park Resort seated at a table in the Beer Garden, so we joined them. I had a beer, then we left the Beer Garden to watch the Sear Factor contest. Each of the twenty contestants was timed to see how fast they could eat a Jalapeño Pepper and a Habañero Pepper. We left before the contest was over because we had to get to the grocery store before it closed, but the average time to eat the two peppers seemed to be in the range of twenty seconds. OUCH !
