November 8 to 14, 2020

Sunday ; Sunny and cold. BRRRRR !

Made crepes this morning for breakfast. First time I’ve made crepes. Turned out quite well !

Monday ; Cloudy and cool. Light snow starting in late afternoon.

Tuesday ; Penticton

Snow overnight. Cloudy and cool today.

We spent another long and tiring day in Penticton running errands. We did all of our regular replenishment shopping ; Wal-Mart, Superstore, etc. We left home around noon and returned shortly after 7 PM.

I returned the trial CPAP machine to the sleep apnea clinic. And I went shopping for a winter coat at Salvation Army and Value Village before finally buying one at Mark’s Work Wearhouse. Joanne and our neighbour/friend Jeanine have been … <ahem> … “encouraging” (read that as “nagging”) me recently to get a better winter coat than the one I have. This is the first time in many years that I have paid retail for clothing. And I certainly did experience “sticker shock” !

Wednesday ; REMEMBRANCE DAY ; LEST WE FORGET !

We observed Remembrance Day this morning watching the CBC broadcast of the National” Remembrance Day service in Ottawa. After our “early” walk Joanne did laundry. Before supper we did an aquatics exercise session. We watched Amazing Race while having supper.

Thursday ; Sunny and cold.

I went into town (Keremeos) this morning to pick up a prescription and an advertised special at the pharmacy and buy a drill bit at the hardware store. At suppertime I attended my weekly Medical Weight Management Zoom meeting. Fat School !

For three hours today, from late morning until mid-afternoon we dog sat a new neighbour’s very old, decrepit, senile, toothless, smelly, abandonment anxious Toy Poodle named Bandit. It went well. EXCEPT … <fume> … Emma decided it was SO DANGEROUS to come out of the bedroom while Bandit was in our home that when she needed to urinate, rather than walk to her litter box in the bathroom, she just climbed into her laundry hamper bed and pissed on her blankie. ****ing cat ! ! ! The little ***** certainly is capable of expressing her displeasure, n’est-ce pas ? ! ?

We had to go to sleep very early tonight because we had a planned power outage for maintenance starting at 10 PM and lasting for about three hours.

Friday ; Sunny and cold.

Reset clocks and timers, early walk, exchange books at library, pool exercise session, register for some “fat school” Zoom sessions, order a wildfire protection sprinkler system for our home, reconcile our American bank statement, e-mail exchange with my sister, …

Somewhat boring life here, in the winter, during a pandemic !

Saturday ; Sunny and cold.

<sigh> Our lives have become too mundane to justify continuing to keep a daily journal.

Bonsoir !

DSK
