DAY 14
HAPPY CANADA DAY !
Well ... what can I say about the weather ? It's another sunny, warm day.
We left Rock Point Provincial Park and headed east on Hwy.3 following the north shore of Lake Erie to Fort Erie. We crossed the International Border on the Peace Bridge over the mouth of the Niagara River, into Buffalo, New York. Shuffled off to Buffalo, so to speak !
Interstate 190 around the south side of Buffalo, to Interstate 90 heading east. Past Rochester, to Syracuse. BIG EVENT ; Joanne drove the rig for the very first time, 29 miles from one rest stop to another on I-90 between Rochester and Syracuse. She did exceptionally well ! Congratulations !
Turned north at Syracuse onto Interstate 81. North on I-81 until we exited for groceries at the village of Mexico, N.Y.. From Mexico, northwest on Hwy.3 to Selkirk Shores State Park on the east coast of Lake Ontario. More expensive than Canadian parks, and not quite as nice.
As I am typing this, an ambulance and fire rescue truck are attending to some medical emergency at the campsite across the road from us, administering oxygen and loading into the ambulance a 30'ish something woman who weighs about 300 pounds, as her 400 pound male companion waddles around looking worried. Have another Big Mac, sweetheart. Would you like fries with that ?
Who said that ? I must have driven too much today !
DSK
