DAY 38
Slept late this morning. Must have been tired out from too much birthday partying. More likely tired out from too much being Uncle Dan to 2 little girls. Spent quite a bit of time redoing some of the trailer brake wiring repair work. I dislike when somebody feels it is necessary to use half a roll of electrical tape on each wiring connection.
Doug and Lorraine, and their 2 girls, Madeleine and Amelia came over late in the afternoon to see the trailer. I played around this park like yard with the girls for the afternoon. Late in the afternoon, Doug's sister Tannis, her husband Scott Hewitt, and their 2 young children, Brooke and Mitchell, arrived to see the trailer, and join us for supper. Brooke and Mitchell are approximately the same ages as Madeleine and Amelia. I am truly mystified why 4 young children, from the city, when presented with an opportunity to romp and play in this huge, rural, park like yard, on a warm, sunny, summer evening, want to be indoors colouring, or watching videos ? ! I was amazed that 4 young children could go inside the trailer, and come back outside, so many times, in such a short period of time !
Sharon and Bud joined us for our picnic supper outdoors beside the trailer, when they returned from visiting Bud's mother, who is over 90, and not doing so well these days. After the Carlson's and Hewitt's left, I sat in the gazebo for the rest of the evening, having Bud serve me Crown Royal and Diet Cokes.
Remind me not to have children !
