DAY 37
Started this sunny warm day over coffee in the back yard gazebo with Sharon and Bud. Worked on finishing the installation of the two plumbing roof vents started yesterday. Loaded the software for the cell phone data cable. Connected to AOL to send and receive e-mail ... through the new cell phone ! ! ! WOO-HOO ! ! !
Went to the Carlson's mid-afternoon to help Lorraine prepare for Doug's surprise 40th birthday party tonight. I and the little nieces set up the lawn furniture, cleaned all ( most of ) the Spiderman spider web spray string gunk off the lawn, blew up balloons, and hung little birthday decorations all around the house and yard. Manned the barbecue. Spent the evening watching Carlson family dynamics ; Doug, his parents, his 2 sisters, and 5 children aged 2 to 5. Quite different from my family's dynamics. Interesting to sit on the periphery and watch.
Happy 40th birthday, Doug. You're a great husband and father.
