DAY 11
Happy Birthday to my sister-in-law Lorri.
Today started out cloudy and cool, becoming sunny and warm late in the afternoon. We woke up very late. Finally ... we get to sleep late. The RV Club rallies had us up pretty early every day.
Phoned Lorri to wish her Happy Birthday. Phoned Camping World in Detroit to cancel our appointment for service on the trailer tomorrow. It can wait. I'll have to try again myself to identify the source of the leak into the bedroom cupboard under the TV antenna before taking it in for service.
Went to the park's visitor centre right after lunch, and from there, hiked the 1.4 km. Tulip Tree Hiking Trail. Drove over to the marsh area, and hiked 2 km. down the Marsh Trail to the observation tower looking out over the marsh and Rondeau Bay. Seemed like a lot more than 2 km.! Went back to the trailer, sat outside in the folding chairs for awhile to rest our sore, tired feet, then went in for a nap before supper. Nice work if you can get it !
Joanne made a cherry crumble dessert with the fresh cherries we bought yesterday. Cooked and ate supper, then took Toby and Teddy for a beach walk. Toby liked it so much he walked along the water's edge, allowing the little waves to wash right over his paws. Teddy spread his toes wide, extended his claws, and had a look of terror on his face. WATER ! LOTS OF WATER ! ! Away from the water's edge, he did enjoy flopping over and rolling in the sand.
Back to the trailer to set up the TV antenna for the first time, to watch the election results. Surprisingly good reception, on quite a few channels. Did some accounting while watching the early results.
This is exactly the sort of day we are striving for in this lifestyle.
