DAY 1
GET YOUR MOTOR RUNNING
HEAD OUT ON THE HIGHWAY
LOOKING FOR ADVENTURE
IN WHATEVER COMES OUR WAY
BORN TO BE WILD by STEPPENWOLF
How à propos ! As we embark on our new lives as full time travellers, Joanne pops Steppenwolf into the CD player, and the first song on the album is Born To Be Wild.
We left home this morning at 11:45 A.M., fifteen minutes earlier than planned. We’re never early for anything ! Maybe this is a good omen.
What a great deal of fear and anxiety I felt today. Selling the businesses, selling the house, getting rid of everything we own, and setting out in an RV for the next couple of years ! WHEW ! This is it !
First day went extremely well. No problems. Lots of excitement !
We drove from Ottawa to Kingston today. Stopped at Brockville to buy some groceries and have a late lunch. Tonight we’re camped at Rideau Acres Campground, where the Spring Rally of the Ontario Chapter of Escapees will be held next week. Had a great barbecued steak dinner along with a couple of cocktails to celebrate. It was a nice warm day ... just the right weather to start a new life. My objective for the next couple of years will be chase “mid-June” weather around North America.
Bonsoir la visite to freezing rain !
